Interior Design: How Our Service & Fees Work
Free in-store consultation (20–25 mins, by appointment).
We’ll discuss your style, timescale and budget, and browse fabrics, wallpapers and paint tones together. Bring room photos/plans and any inspiration images.
Measuring service (if required).
£20–£60 depending on distance. We can quote from your measurements, but we recommend our service to catch any hidden issues before ordering.At Alan Espey Interiors, we believe every home deserves style, comfort, and individuality. Home visit (when helpful).
£120 per hour (£100 + VAT), payable on booking. Mileage included within 10 miles of Newtownards; 50p per mile each way thereafter. We review what’s staying, the room’s feel and function, and take reference notes/photos (estimate-level measurements).
Your scheme presentation (7–10 days later).
In-store display of fabrics, wallpapers, paint boards, pole/track/blind samples, plus curated furniture/lighting options. We’ll discuss practicalities (e.g., window treatments) and provide an estimate.
Further sourcing beyond the presentation is £100 + VAT per hour.
Options.
Mood board £85, or have samples sent to you free of charge (to home or to our shop for review).
If you proceed.
We book final measuring, issue a fully itemised quote (products + project management + trades). We then manage everything—orders, deliveries, trades scheduling and installation—through to a final quality check.

Local trade contacts help keep time costs low; we can often secure preferential pricing. With your permission, we may photograph the finished space for our records or social media; we can also arrange professional imagery or magazine features.
Window treatments or paint only?
We’re happy to cost single-service schemes (e.g., curtains/shutters) or provide a paint consultancy.
